This guide describes how admins can set up and customise a webform.
How to create a new webform
- Log in to your RACE account as an Administrator and click the RACE Admin section [1] at the bottom of the page.
- Select 'configure' on RACE Forms [2].
- Type in the name for the new webform [3] and click the plus ('+') icon [4].
- Click on the new list [5] which has just been made.
- Enter the name of the form and a description i.e the purpose of the form.
How to customise webform elements
- Pressing the arrow icon [6] will open the drop-down allowing you to edit the webform element.
- You can modify the element by typing in the Object Name [7] which is the back-end name for the element and the Display Name [8] which is the name the customer will see when filling in the webform.
- The description box [9] will allow you to enter information which will aid the customer when filling out the webform.
- You can also change the type of form input displayed on the form and clicking this button [10] will open up the drop down selection which includes numbers, dates and long form answers.
- Pressing the blue pencil icon will bring up additional settings which you can apply to the webform.
- The red bin icon will allow you to delete the element from the webform.
- Ticking the required button will mean that the customer is required to fill out this element completely to submit the webform.
- Pressing the green plus icon [11] will allow you to choose whether to add a new element or new section to the form.
- The up and down arrows [12] on the side of the element will allow you to change the order of the elements or sections in the webform.
How to customise webform sections
- Pressing the green plus icon [11] will allow you to add a new section to the form.
- You can modify the section by typing in the Section Object Name [13] which is the back-end name for the section and the Section Display Name [14] which the customer will see when filling in the webform.
- The description box [15] will allow you to enter information to aid the the customer when filling out the webform.
- Again, the blue pencil icon will bring up additional settings, the red bin icon will allow you to delete the section from the webform and ticking the required button will mean that the customer is required to fill out this section completely to submit the webform.
- Once you have finished creating your webform, the save button [16] will allow you to save the current webform.
- Adding the script at the bottom of the page [17] to the index.html body tag will display the form.
